This is a 10-inch Itihass Kukri(khukuri), Itihaas referring to History. It is a replica of one of the famous Gurkha blades which has been in use since the first world war. The itihass kukri was used during the first world war which made the Gurkhas as well as Nepal as a whole famous in the world. It is one of the most renowned Kukri’s not famous for its role in the war but even amongst the knife collectors! It is one of the bestselling Kukri’s. This particular one is a Custom made Kukri of the Famous Gurkha Kukri house. The blade of the Kukri is made up of highly graded carbon steel (Car and jeep leaf spring, 5160). It is a full tang Kukri. The handle is made Rosewood and water buffalo bone which are glued together by traditional Nepali glue called Laha. The handle has been modified by our factory in such a way that it’s more stable, comfortable, and stronger than the one that was used during the World War. The modification gives the Kukri a nice look along with better stability and endurance. There are two rivets securing the handle. The Kukri comes with a Scabbard which is made up of water buffalo leather infused with pinewood. The Kukri comes with two small accessory blades called Karda and Chammak. The handle is 6 inches, and the blade is 10 inches. The overall length of the Kukri is 16 inches.
We highly recommend that the wooden parts on all kukri are treated with the appropriate timber oil or wood treatment prior to use to protect and prolong the life of the timber. All of our exquisite Kukri’s are hand-made and as such there will be variations in size, weight, timber color, and other such features that make them unique and distinguishable from machine-made imitations. Buyers must be 18 yrs and over to purchase any knife or sword. Please note that the kukris are shipped directly from Nepal.
